Susan Beth Wilhelm is a native of the Tidewater Virginia area, growing up on the Chesapeake Bay. The majority of her adult life she resided in Alabama. Her admiration for the coast, wildlife, and nature is the inspiration for most of her paintings. The expression of vivid color is demonstrated throughout her paintings in Watercolor and Watercolor Batik. Now living in the southwest her work reflects the richness of southwest heritage.
Beth has been developing her ability since a young child. She has studied under regionally acclaimed artist in Virginia, Alabama, Colorado, Florida and Oklahoma. She has taught formal drawing and painting to adult, collegiate, high school, and elementary age students, enjoying the sharing and excitement of her student's creations.
Currently, Beth exhibits in galleries in Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, and Virginia. She conducts classes, workshops, lectures, and demonstrations locally at various Museums, and educational facilities in Chickasha, Edmond, Oklahoma City, Shawnee, and Tulsa. A member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, American Impressionist Society, CAE Rocky Mountain National Water Media Society, member and award winner of the American Watercolor Society, received noted recognition at additional national exhibits, and numerous 2D-1st Place awards for her work.
